Charley’s Fund has a focused mission: to fund a cure or treatment for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in time to help Charley and other young boys who are afflicted with DMD.
Charley’s Fund was started by Benjamin and Tracy Seckler, whose son Charley was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in July, 2004.
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a fatal genetic disease that destroys every skeletal muscle in the body. DMD is the most severe form of muscular dystrophy. Although scientists know what causes the disease, there is still no effective treatment or cure.
Our trustees and scientific advisor are working to direct money into the hands of those who have the best shot at finding a cure or treatment for Duchenne. This would not be possible without the generosity of our donors.
