George Vella, PhD
Director of Research and Strategic Planning
Dr. Vella brings to Charley’s Fund 20+ years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. He joined Charley’s Fund from BioProcessors Corp., a VC backed start-up biotechnology company where he most recently served as Vice President of Research and Development. Before that, he was a Scientific Fellow at Applied Biosystems and held several positions during his six year tenure there, including Divisional Vice President of Science & Technology and Senior Director of Scientific Operations. Dr. Vella has also served in senior managerial positions at PerSeptive Biosystems and Millipore and Waters. Dr. Vella received his PhD in bio-organic chemistry from McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada and was a Post Doctoral Fellow in the Biochemistry Research Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He is the only PhD level scientist in the world whose sole job is to expedite a treatment or cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Cheryl Rosen
Director of Development and Operations
Prior to joining Charley’s Fund, Ms Rosen’s professional career, spanning over 15 years, focused on financial and economic analysis in a consulting setting. She was an Executive Consultant with Peterson Consulting, a litigation support firm in New York City. While at Peterson Consulting, Ms Rosen worked on engagements covering a wide range of economic issues within various industries, counseled and supported clients, managed large teams of people and oversaw multiple engagements. Before joining Peterson Consulting, Ms Rosen worked at Townsend-Greenspan, an economic consulting firm in New York City. Most recently, she has worked closely with Learning Leaders, a nonprofit organization in New York City dedicated to ensuring access to improved educational opportunities for public school students. At Charley’s Fund, Ms Rosen will focus her efforts on fundraising and overseeing the financial operations of the company. She received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Amy Jaeger
Office Manager
Ms Jaeger comes to Charley's Fund after spending six years at Harrah's Entertainment in Las Vegas as a Marketing and Special Events Representative. She brings with her a strong background in database management, accounting, customer relations and general office management. Ms Jaeger attended Franklin Pierce College and Portland State University.
